FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Why do some flies not go in the fly killer? Not all flying insects are attracted to Ultra Violet Light. They can be very good for wasps, moths, blue bottles, house flies, but are generally not effective for lesser house flies, gnats, etc.
Why am I finding small beetles in my fly killer? A positive identification and catch analysis can provide a trend to the types of insects which are normally around your site. The Biscuit Beetle is particularly attracted to Ultra Violet Light and often found in catch trays where there is an infestation. The hard shelled outer wing cases (eletra) are not fused and open to uncover the wings.
ARE THERE MORE RATS AROUND?
There have been various statements over the years such as your never more than 15 feet from a rat, we don’t believe that is true however due to a series of milder winters and the opportunities which humans leave for rats to take advantage of, such as waste and holes in buildings, it is true they are on the increase particularly in urban areas.
CAN CATS FLEAS SURVIVE ON HUMANS
Cat Flea can survive of human blood, however they cannot reproduce without their main host. Even without any food fleas can survive for up to 3 months and can also go in to a slow down state ‘diapause’ which allows them to survive for up to 2 years until the conditions are right or a host arrives.
