PEST TECHNICIAN - BECOMING A PROFESSIONAL PEST CONTROLLER
Pest Control can be a tremendously satisfying career and after 20 years we are still excited to learn about new techniques and resolving pest problems.
Pest Control requires total commitment to the client to follow through and document every step of progress and action required.
You will be resolving pest problems, working to strict health and safety guidelines, learning about pests, their habits, behaviours and biology and making decisions on site of the best course of action.
Although we treat the Pests, it is the people that we work for. Therefore a smart appearance and good customer service skills are essential.
Pestokill provide a full in-house training program as follows;
- Level 1 - Our in-house Pest Control foundation course
- Level 2 Training towards British Pest Control Association Diploma
- Level 3 British Pest Control Association Part two exam.
Due to different pests in different seasons it can take years to experience all situations and one of the fascinating aspects of the job is that there is always a new pest that you haven’t seen before, a new type of treatment and a challenging environment to eradicate the pests.
There are several grades of Technicians and many associated roles such as Area Co-ordinators, Team Leaders, Field Biologist, Surveyors, etc.
